Stalemate

Stalemate is a term used in chess when a player is not in check but has no legal move to make. This situation results in a draw, meaning neither player wins or loses. This happens when a player's king cannot move to a safe square, and it is their turn to play. However, the player is not in direct check. Therefore, they cannot take any action, resulting in a stalemate.
