Chess Terms : Strategy Explained

Strategy

Strategy refers to the long-term planning and execution throughout the game. It involves devising an overall plan for the game and arranging the pieces in a way that supports the advancement of that plan. Chess strategy pertains to setting and achieving long-term positioning advantages, assessing the value of the pieces, establishing control of key squares or regions, setting up pawn structures, and coordinating pieces and pawns. The choice of strategies often depends on the players' relative skill and understanding of the game, as well as the current positioning of the board.
