What is Triangulation?
Chess Terms : Triangulation Explained
Triangulation is a tactic used in chess to put one's opponent in zugzwang (a situation where any move they make will weaken their position). This is achieved by the player moving their king back and forth over three squares in a triangular path, effectively losing a move and thus, changing the timing in the position, forcing the opponent to move in a disadvantageous way.
