Automatic timeout suspension

To give everyone a chance to breathe and relax over the holiday period, no automatic timeouts will now occur until January the 3rd.

Although timeouts can still be claimed manually, please consider giving your opponents a little more time until the above date.

How do I "claim a match manually"?

If the timeout and timebanks have fully depleated, there will be a skull icon next to the game in question. Click this to manually claim the game.

Tournament games will automatically be timed out after 2 days, but Russ is saying that this has been suspended until January.

Cheers Russ, a nice gesture for those of us who have lives outside of chess. Hope those that don't will do the decent thing and keep their greedy paws off the "claim win" button while the rest of us are in our drunken stupor/ up to our wotsits in kids and their seasonal detritus or whatever... Happy New Year to all!...

On this note, special seasonal greetings are due to a certain 'Love Boat Captain' who wasted no time in claiming his default win while I was away gorging myself on Turkey and enjoying the festivities. B'ah humbug to you sir!!!
