This is nothing new.
Metallica had a reputation for mounting challenges heavily in their favour.
I suspect nothing's changed.
When I was a leader,I had lots of discussions with Fred to sort out fairer challenges.
Sometimes we did and sometimes we didn't
I expect a lot of leaders can't be bothered to put in the time and effort so just reject Metallica challenges out of hand

Yeah. You can tell who's dropping the thumbs. The guilty. Shortcircuit has busted his butt over the years to play this thing by the rules, but to stay disciplined, and to keep us there as well. I guess the boys took their ball and bat and ran home. Weak as it gets. The clique within the clans!

Hi Bobla hope you are well. I don't know if this will make a difference but first I want you to know that I reach out to your leader at times for help with different things or just to say hello. I consider him a chess friend and I have a tremendous amount of respect for him.

But we have tried to play each other but we can never agree on what each of us feels is a even match. We both end up bouncing. It's normal we both want to win.

We have played you guys a few times maybe three? But not because we don't want to and I always make sure to tell leaders to play you.

For me, and I think Fred would agree? We just can't agree on the pairings. But that happens at times.

Just know it's not that we would not play you guys, we have tried but could not make it work other than those three times.

I hope this ease your mind about me and especially my team.

Good luck this season, it's a long a season, you guys can easily come back and win it all.

Also, we went through a period where clans were not playing us as well. Now it's more complaining about us, and other really rude things about me and my team.

I'm learning to get use to it. I don't know the exact number but maybe 61 clans? Oh I gave you nothing but green thumbs. 🙂

Bobla45 said there were 8 clans that wouldn't play them, not that they couldn't come to an agreement on pairings. I don't believe the two would be the same. At least you two have tried and did get a few challenges in as I recall. At the time, I had said I didn't want to personally play them, as I still had bad feelings at that time over what happened and my leaving Metallica. I am long over it now!

As I've said sometimes Clan Leaders just can't come to an agreement on pairings. I sincerely believe if we had a separate Clan Challenge rating it would help. As it stands the ratings for tournaments and Clan Challenges are together. In a tournament you have no idea who you are going to get paired up with if they haven't entered the tournament before you. This can really mess up the ratings.

I am a Prime example as my rating goes between 1200's and 1500's. I think it would be more stable if I just had the rating for Clan Challenges, as you know I play a ton of Clan Challenges as well as Tournaments, Private games, Club games, and invitational games.

We played together for many years my old friend, we always had the problem of Clans not playing us which was quite frustrating. Now that there are less Clans to play against it makes it even more difficult.

I know my old Clan Leader in Metallica who you've known longer and you know this is a very tough negotiator. I know Michael has tried and we have played some challenges against my old Clan.

You would have to be a Clan Leader on another Clan to see how tough a Negotiator your Clan Leader is Bobla45. I don't believe there is any collusion, at least any that I am aware of myself. There was a period of time after I left Metallica I asked Michael not to be paired up with anyone on Metallica, as I was upset. I hold no grudges as "Ghost" suggested.

I always considered myself to be a fair player! I certainly wouldn't suggest to Michael he not play Metallica. I would play myself now so long as I was paired up with someone around my own strength which has dropped some since I was with Metallica as has been pointed out by different people on the Site.

You are better at putting your thoughts in posts than I am. When I saw what Bobla had posted it was important to me that he knew we are not one of those clans. And no you would never ask me not to play someone it's not your nature.

But I felt I had to say something so they did not think we were one of those clans. It just is not true. The issue as I pointed out and you then also said it is agreeing on a match. Fred is tougher than me in negotiating a challenge. He is just a tough man and believes in his convictions.

I agree with all you said and as always you say it better than I do. I just did not want him thinking we are one of those eight clans.

Thank you for clarifying everything I missed or was wrong on. I also gave him all green. I have to say we are lucky now.
