Dumbing down movies for U.S. audiences...

Why? I just don't get it.

I mean, is it that bad taste is king? Is it that people are stupid?
I keep watching the French, German, English and other originals
of Made in USA remakes and they are fine movies, with a good
plot and decent acting.

But then what happens? That some cash is pour into a production,
some chic name is casted, the plot is twitched to eliminate the
complicated or "indecent" parts, and F/X explosions and lots of
dumb action is added, i.e. lots of cliché.

And voilá! There you go: a stupid, flavorless movie for American
audiences. Why do you people keep permitting the studios to
insult you? Or is it that they're right and you're tasteless?!

Geez...

Oh yeah, and the Oscars suck, they're just a sympathy vote...

Many Americans only flock to mindless entertainment whether in movies, literature or music. Not all, mind you.

Keep in mind, that as in all other things, the rest of the world will soon follow.

You, the people of the U.S. with good taste, have a great
responsibility in avoiding this phenomenon to spread.

Big name star, lots of cool FX and CGI, OOOh OOOOh. Having said that, I need to go put 'Lawrence of Arabia in the DVD player.'

If only art cinema would be more popular amongst producers.
