i would like to advocate this classic number, by band middle of the road, for it seems to me to capture the essence of the times but has a timeless transcendental quality as well. The lady in question Sally Carr was born but five minutes from my own home in a little village called Muirhead, dig ya'll

    thanks Binds!

I listened to the song and googled the lyrics because I couldn't possibly be getting it right, if this was the greatest pop song of all time and beyond. Now I'll have to go find one that I think really is the greatest, not the weirdest.

'With a Girl Like You.' by The Troggs.

Voted best pop song of the 60's (NME & Radio 2 poll) there was some really
great songs produced during that decade.

A song about a guy trying to pluck up the courage to ask a girl to dance
at some disco touches a chord with every guy.

'To you across the floor my love I'll send.' great lyric.

    Classic Reg Presley.
