Tell me what you think of this Bach Cello suite, how high do rate the player?

The didgeridoo improvisation is very nice, but what does it have to do with my viola jokes?

The Bach... Well, it's technically well played (at least the part I have listened to; it stopped loading properly somewhere in the prelude, and I didn't have the patience to wait), but I find it hard to enjoy baroque music played in such a romantic way. That kind of interpretation was common fifty years ago, but it's a bit surprising to hear a young player play like that.

Shouldn't this thread be in the Culture forum?

Can you post an example of a modern one that you like?

I quite like this one performed by Yo-Yo Ma, for example:

Oops, I put in the wrong video, here is the right one!:

Of course there is this hacker🙂 How does this guy stand up? Compared to a modern player like Yo Yo Ma.

I found this master class by that same hacker!:
Have you seen this one?

I thought it interesting his comment there was no staccato on cello in Bach's time.

I also found this one, must have been one of his last performances, at the UN:
