Has anyone here read the full seven volume set? Is it worth it, or should I just go for the abridged?
I'm reading Roberto Bolano's 2666 and one of the blurbs on the back made comparisons between Bolano and bunch of modernist / postmodernist heavyweights who I know and love, as well as Vollmann, who I hadn't heard of. I looked him up and although his fiction sounded like something I'd enjoy, the idea of Rising Up and Rising Down really intrigued me. Anyone have any thoughts?
