You do honestly believe that Family Guy would look just the same if the Simpsons didn't exist ?

Wow, bread'n'butter comedic material that is used by probably about 75% of all sit-coms!
    You must be right! [/sarcasm]

The Simpsons certainly helped pave the way for The Family Guy, but I'd hardly say it's a copy of The Simpsons.

Would you say that Led Zeppelin was just a cheap replica of the blues performers who influenced them?

Simpsons, not even a contest. Hey, it's an opinion just like anyone else's.

Actually, a closer contest would be Family Guy vs. South Park, but they lose there, too. πŸ˜‰

Family Guy, because they push at boundaries a bit more (in a way The Simpson's did before it became bloated and weary). South Park beats them both, though, for much the same reason.

I like a bit of shock value in my animated comedy, I suppose...

The Simpsons has held up way better over time than Family Guy.

The old simpsons episodes are still classic, and it has lasted for 20 years (arguably, about 12-15 of them were good years)

Family Guy has really lost steam, and now the episodes are just a series of non sequitur flashbacks.

I think South Park also has held up much better than Family Guy, also Simpsons had a big head start on it.

Simpson's got old and stopped being funny a long time ago, Family Guy is hysterical and the humor is far superior. I quit watching the Simpson's years ago.
