What's your view re: the MTV awards?

Although I am not a traditionalist and thus I care nothing for the Oscars and the Grammy, the reality is that votes of sympathy mean, in reality nothing.

I mean, does it make it better if zillions of teens vote for something?

Honestly, in my case, I rather stay away from the winners, to be honest.

I would say they mean approximately $142 million in advertising revenue.

Apparently enough people enjoy watching the MTV awards to make it commercially viable. I'm not stopping them.

Ok, so it's a money thing.

Thanks, I didn't know that. Now I can sleep at night.

You're surely not surprised, though?

MTV is hardly a model of cultural philanthropy...

A complete and utter pile of sh**e, just for bebo heads only!

The fact that a fairly poor film like Twilight can be best film says it all...winner for best kiss.....please kill me now!

I actually remember MTV being quiet decent back in the late 90's with shows like the chill out zone, unplugged etc..

Even their first tv show, the real life, wasn't too bad.. However soon afterwards 30 pieces of silver were exchanged at some point. Thereafter it just turned to pap showing bands approved for the corporate playlist and all originality was snuffed out.

The awards are the same, a lot of self congratulating and rectum linking .

mmm. so. the self-serving purpose of the MTV awards and the audience-serving effect they have on me are one in the same, featuring the same body part. my. that's so internally coherent.

Funny. I remember MTV destroying music in the '90s.

Maybe the one shown in europe was slightly better than the US one.. That and our musical tastes are probably different.
