The Dali thread inspired me to check out the tastes of a bunch of chess players. While I like some of Dali's work, my favorites are:
1. Munch
2. Cezanne
3. Bosch

Waterhouse, Millais, Rossetti, Rubens, Klimt, Leighton...and an endless of others in other styles, but my favourites are Pre-Raphaelites 🙂

Jacques-Louis David. His painting "The Sabine Women" is awesome and beautiful. Took my breath away.
