"Work harder"??? LMFAO!

For pages you've been defending preferential tax treatment for something that isn't "work" at all in contrast to actual work.

You really don't make any sense at all.

BILL: I just sold some stock for a $50,000 profit!

JANE: Damn, I worked all year as a teacher of 3rd grade students in an inner city school and only made $40,000.

BILL: Well, obviously I worked harder than you.
Poor worn out post fodder.

Anyway, I was just saying to ask your lib legislator, hey, man , do y'all ever think about the fact that some people work harder than others, but Kamala said that (in any event) at the end of the day, everyone sholud end up in the same place . So, fool legislator, how you gonna handle that when people want govt to support them? ( I had zero after college, borrowed $3000 for 3 years law school, ate 35cent chicken pot pies every day, got job examing titles (deed dog), and workd my ass off, said,,,,,I am going to make money!!!! Now, we have a mutual dutch type friend who said, naaaa, I dont need much to live on, like to drive along the coast, etc..... If he gets sick, are you gonna get my money to take care of him, Marauder,? Of course,.. you have as much said so.Both losers and workers get the same thing, same handouts? Mr Lagislator, my friend Marauder here says yes, that the people with money need to give it to both the loser that does not work hard, and also to the person that works hard.

As an aside, you can sound like the faeirie liberals here who want to define what work hard means, write all about it, but the issues are not about 'paying more to people that work harder', Doesn't have to be, because people make their own free choice about how much they want to work, and how much they will accept for their work. It is NONE OF YOUR OR THE GOVT business, it is an agreement , a contract, between private parties, so you can cool it onjthat.it is about people
in society living together, and getting to keep what they make at the end of the day. In the big picture, you want to apply that logic to the USA,... that, you want to tell a person (who works hard that you want a say-so about his earnings!!!!!!

Are you for real? No normal person can think like that.
And hey, the guy who digs a ditch or who rides around in a car on the beach, that is their choice, A guy can live on ditch dig money..........But he best not have children, he might not be able to afford it. Should I pick up his slack? A lot of yes or no answers here.

You pulled yourself up by your bootstraps which should be recognized and valued, but the thought that your money pays for the slackness of others is a problem.
Your taxes go into a pool first and foremost to pay off the debt generated by money being created. The rest pays for the military, infrastructure, healthcare and social welfare. The money helps sustain the village you live in.

Do you like the village you live in? Do you have to think about your own security every time you step out? If you only think about your quality of life and the village goes to hell in a hand-basket, can you really enjoy what you have established?

A question for you? All these people who would move elsewhere if they had to pay more tax. Where would they go?

Hmmm, let's flesh this one out. You left out that al people in the USA have diff motive, work ethic, family life, bad choices, good choices, take risk or DONT take risk,,,,,desires , (I want law school so I can make money, I will live on frozen pies for 3 years), backgrounds.....
So all of us strike out into the world. Marauder somewhere in there, you want to step in like Robin Hood and make it all equal . YOU are an idiot. It is none of your business, Our country should pay for the 35million indigent, and everyone else, look out for yourself. IT IS that simple. I mean, where do you get off...oh, never mind
Explain to us how you make distinctions of 'treatment,' for lack of a better word, of people with different lots in life. Everyone doing their thing, some work hard, some ride along the beach.... Some inherit, some start from scratch, all 333M are different.
Take it from there..... Start with your 'Bill worked Harder than jane'. Keep choice in mind, please , a major factor

Keep it simple. So, a person chooses to live in Whiteacre. If he is not happy there, for WHATever reason, he chooses to leave,......or, he gets his neighbors together, to make it better,..... he may run for offfice. The world goes round and round.
So are you saying there is a moment that things change? Changes by the citizen? Or, by the town council? So council raises taxes too high? Leave, then? Doesnt like his job or his pay? Then change jobs. Or start his own business.
Seriously,,,,,,,,,set up a pemise that makes sense. You ask where would they go? There are apprx 20k towns in USA. Don't tell me the govt should be involved in their lives.
And, Bill and Jane you mention above???They have absolutely nothing to do with each other, nor do their lots in life.
And we can all stipulate what services taxes are for, don't get your point there.

Lol this thread is about the government not able to pay the bills.

I do apologize, the rambling, one thing leads to another. Getting late. I am jsut amazed that y'all thnk like you do, that is all. You seem to want to lump everyone together. I do not even know my neighbor across the street. Should I? Are we connected? This is maybe a trick question. I don't think that you can say 'no'.

nononono.....It is about THE RICH paying the bills.

Marauder, a great example of the confusing posts on the Forum.

WGrass is being disingenuous.

Nah. If the government spends the money, someone's gotta pay. The rich used to pay because they had the money, but now the government has decided the rich don't need to pay taxes anymore, the $2 trillion can go on the credit card for the next generation to worry about.

? Somebody's got to pay. Yes, members of a society do so in the form of taxes. But AJoe queries which of the members pay how much. Some don't pay ANY!,,,,while those 'some' expect the producers, who do not ride around on the beach, to pay more, so that the 'some' can have a free ride on that beach.

I think my posts are too simple.

Producers have money. They can invest in industry they can produce their own IP they can accumulate property and engage in rent seeking behavior.

Calling the never having to do a day's physical labor in their life the producer class is one of the most perverse inversions of function I have ever heard. Do they really make things happen or are they useless without the producers of labor. Its a bit chicken and eggy to be sure, but there you have it.

Labor matters enormously, for sure, but capital, risk, organization, and investment matter too. A factory worker cannot build a factory alone, just as an investor cannot produce anything without workers. And please start understanding the risk that the investors take, somebody has to do it, right?

The reason investment income is often taxed differently is because invested capital is what funds businesses, expansion, research, machinery, payrolls, and jobs in the first place. The person risking their savings to start or grow a business can lose everything; an employee still gets paid first in most cases. THEy TAKE NO RISK.

You may dislike inequality, but calling all investors or entrepreneurs “rent seekers” ignores how much economic growth depends on people willing to risk capital long before profits exist.

As to debt, US government already collects trillions in taxes. We don’t mainly have a revenue problem — we have a spending problem.
This is a great example of liberals, looking at the wrong side of a coin.
