Stop deflecting. We're trying to solve a problem about this $2 trillion. I don't understand how you can justify asking everyone to pay $6,000 when most people don't have it. They'd have to borrow it or sell stuff. They're trying to live within their means but now you come along and say "Live within your means and subtract an additional $6,000 from that. Trump needs it for golfing."

We still need to debate solutions , but remember that this challenge belongs to all of us now not just one group of Americans.....not just the rich. Well it's not ancient history. It kinda started with Reagan and Clinton actually fixed it before Bush broke it again. These folks are still alive. As previously mentioned Democrats always make it better and Republicans always make it worse. If you care about it, vote accordingly.

You are on the record in this thread as wanting to charge every American $6,000, not people who want free stuff, everyone. Even people who literally don't have $6,000. Even children.

There are other, much better options. I like the wealth tax, but other things are also good ideas. Like maybe raising the top marginal income tax percent back to where it has been, historically. Even under Reagan it was much higher. Put it back to 35% and this $2 trillion number would decrease. Your grandkids don't have to pay the current salaries of ICE officers.

Another good idea is to ask heirs to pay capital gains on their inheritances. Currently they don't have to pay a dime on the capital gains. Or maybe I don't know, a borrowing tax to prevent ultra-wealthy from taking advantage of financial schemes to avoid taxes on their income.

Your idea stinks though. Asking poor people, some laid off, out of work, sitting in a hospital bed, kids still playing T-ball, to pay Trump $6,000. Ridiculous.

It is obvious that all citizens cannot pay $6000, I was saying that as a mathematical observation. (Based on the national average income being $65,000.). (10%...do you get it!?!?)
Everybody pay a portion of their salary. Let me whittle it down for you. What if we have a law now that says everybody pay a dollar extra for a gallon of gasoline to get rid of a nuclear threat from a rabid country? Are you going to say that not everyone can afford an extra dollar for a gallon of gas.?

Bezos pays all INCOME taxes due on his income, too. He has for years had a salary of $181,000. Buffet also has minimal income, all of their wealth is in investments, not subject to income tax. You and Elizabeth Warren want to punish them. The companies between the 2 of them employ a lot people, produce a lot of goods, and provide a lot of services, You and AOC et al and the skinny nsty mayor of Seattle say we do not need billionaires.

Pivoting away, again. You backed off your idea of charging $6,000 extra per person to pay this bill, since it's unrealistic and hurtful, but do not propose any alternative solution other than to double down on your fealty to billionaires.
