A ten year old girl had to cross state lines for an abortion. 27 year old man who raped has been arrested, and was only arrested after the doctor who performed the abortion alerted the cops.
Here's the kicker: The girl traveled from Ohio to neighboring Indiana to get the abortion. Indiana just announced they're banning abortion yesterday. Had this rape happened a few weeks later, it's possible the ten year old rape victim would not have been able to terminate the pregnancy.
The girl is 10 years old. She could've been forced to carry and birth her rapist's child.
@vivify saidStates could simply say approve abortions for victims of rape and incest. Of course, with guidelines to prove rape. Thanks for not suggesting that this is a federal matter.

Here's an interactive map of the U.S. showing which states have abortion bans and how restrictive those bans are. Click on each state for details.
@averagejoe1 saidIt’s a human rights matter.

@averagejoe1 saidHow can a woman "prove" rape in time to get an abortion?
States could simply say approve abortions for victims of rape and incest. Of course, with guidelines to prove rape.
This is why abortion bans are immoral and idiotic.
@averagejoe1 saidThe jurisdictional argument does not really reveal how you feel about abortion.

@vivify saidhow do you ignore the fact the Ohio AG said the girl qualified for an abortion there?

@Mott-The-Hoople
What difference does that make? She still has to have an adult carry her across some state lines because Texas is such a putrid place to live politically.
They can't even keep their own power grid going, the leaders are a bunch of assswipes in the pocket of Evangelicals.
@shavixmir saidYes, for sure, but It is not just a human rights matter. States have their own rights, about how people act and interact. Legislators decide if certain activities are OK in their respective states, and decide if there are some things that are not acceptable.
It’s a human rights matter.
That is their right. Are you saying that the citizens of a state, through their elected representatives, of course, should not vote on whether or not abortions should take place in their towns??? Their state?? Certainly you can understand, that, unlike many liberal people, they think conservatively and find abortion abominable. Can you at least acknowledge that some simple citizens, some with loving children, can not abhor aborting a heart-beating fetus? You will not answer this question.
@vivify saidA real can of worms, Vivify. We have to work on how to do it. A problem for sure, many loose college girls will be screaming rape to get an abortion. A few will slip by, but at least we pro-life parents can beat it down in some respect,, even if we only save one child.

Did you say abortion bans are immoral? So, that it is moral to abort a baby? Say, a lady is birthing twins, first one is born, and she says I only want one, 'put the quietus on that other one that aint born yet". You will not answer this premise. You will not.
@mott-the-hoople saidWay after the fact and only
how do you ignore the fact the Ohio AG said the girl qualified for an abortion there?
when his office was taking heat.
@averagejoe1 saidRather Solomonic of you!

@averagejoe1 saidWhy would it be wrong for this to be a federal matter rather than a states' rights matter,
Thanks for not suggesting that this is a federal matter.
but not wrong for it to be a states' rights matter rather than an individual matter?
@kevin-eleven saidAh, A man of words, I like it.
Rather Solomonic of you!
I am thinking, a new thread.."Abort (kill) 2nd twin after 1st is born?" Is that too strong.? Could you give me a likely lib answer?
Oops, mistook you for the other Kev.....but anyway, what do you think he would say? They just cannot answer these simple questions I put to them. I even tell them they won't and , they don't.

fetus, not baby. and yes, it is moral. Just like it is moral to not imprison me without cause or not force me to donate a kidney to a cousin. What one does with one's body is nobody;'s business.
I don't give a flying fuk you think your religion says life begins at conception (it doesn't even say that). You have no right to impose your religion on me.
" Say, a lady is birthing twins, first one is born, and she says I only want one, 'put the quietus on that other one that aint born yet""
Nobody ever did that.
"You will not answer this premise. You will not."
You have been answered before. Plenty of times. You just ignored the answer.
