@MickeyD saidOnce again, horizontal morality versus vertical morality.
Everytime a liberal says something about something they want to spend, they will say it is 'only about 1%". 1% here and 1% there adds up to a lot of percent. If there are 15 liberal programs, like the innocent USAID program at 1%, that will all add up to 15% of the United States Money, going purely to liberal causes, Some people want another 1% to go our military for more ammo, but the liberals do not want to spend that 1%.
Excuses for treating our brothers like dirt.
"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need." This is horizontal morality. No room for hatred or love of self OR love of money.
@Suzianne saidWe are in debt $38trillion. Your comment is so flippant, no one here thinks for one second that we are wealthy enough to continue spending more money than we already have out into the world.
You obviously have missed my point that the sin here is Trump refusing to aid nearly half the world. America is wealthy enough to do it, but loves wealth too much to share. This is Trump's legacy.
And you’re saying that Trump refuses to aid nearly half the world. Let us all vote, should we aid nearly half the world, when we have No debt to half the world? And, the president has debt here at home to the citizens that he has sworn to protect. And why can we not call on Netherlands to aid nearly half the world? Or call on Denmark to mix the Muslims in , in their country.? Why is no one upset with Denmark for driving the Muslims back, but they are upset with the USA driving the Mexicans back
@Cliff-Mashburn saidYou should be ashamed by whose horse you bet on.
Thank you, I figured it was just more bullchit from suzy.
You and your Old Testament religion.
@MickeyD saidAgain, you miss the point, because you dearly want to.

@Suzianne saidYou familiar with socialist Rosa DeLauro? I’ll send you a link later. But, setting socialism and religion aside, where she is preaching that religion Bible, etc. says we’re supposed to live like socialists, may I ask you this question.
Again, you miss the point, because you dearly want to.
If we follow her reasoning, she is asking people like Shav and atheists, and other people who have zero credence in the Bible, to follow the teachings of the Bible and support everybody around them.
Should an atheist follow her teachings,? What if you were president and she were your vice president, who was putting forth such policies? Suzanne, would you find it reasonable for you to demand atheists use their tax money to support all of the people around them?
This would be a good beginning for your thread on socialism.

@Cliff-Mashburn saidOr what is Suzianne personally doing about this? At this stage of the game she should know how to sweet-talk chatGPT into turning a twenty-dollar investment into the billions necessary to support nations-worth of lesser humans as if they are her dear and well-cared-for pets.
Just curious, what are other countries doing about this?
There's almost a movie script in this!

Read up on that story for yourself because that opening post is utter rubbish. In Myanmar, the population is mostly Buddhists, and there is a minority Islamic population of about 4%. I agree with Raj, plus I'm sure the Military Junta of Myanmar considers the USA to be a bossy, full-of-itself interloper.
Another aspect is that some Buddhist cultures might be cooler with the phenomenon of death than many Americans are, because of the belief in reincarnation or transmigration of souls.
As asked above, why aren't Myanmar's more proximal neighbors helping? And conversely, for what conniving reason might the USA have been helping erstwhile?
Young or old or in-between, everybody dies. Get used to it.
Sometimes idealism is the problem.

Now they're starving.
This is not okay.
