Two separate Giveaways:
So people who started out with nothing just simply end up with something all by saying their parents did not own a home....that, they will be first generation homeowners.
The govt will GIVE these people, who have to do nothing, 25% of the cost of a $100k home.
Does this seem a normal way to run a country? Marauder and MB need not reply, we know your manifestos.

Number 2: Two million new homes, do you think the occupants will pay rent? Do you think any of them will be illegally here, vagrants? Will we have to pay for them? Do we do this after we pay for free tuition?

If true, this is a fantastic idea, on so many levels.
But all we'll hear about now are all the envious freaks saying "Where's MY 25k?"
To that I say, you have a house, don't you? Count your blessings.
And now these people can be invested in America, too.
Stop raining on their parade. Or pissing on them and calling it rain.
@Suzianne saidSuzianne says that blessings gave me a house.!!!!!! I got my house from blessings from somewhere.( She is daft, of course, or she would tell us from whom the blessings of a house for Avjoe has come from?)

These people will not be invested, we are the ones who are invested. So you might instead write that we are investing in these people? Tell us then, what will our return be? ( I assume you know what a 'return' on an investment is?)
These are questions, which hopefully will elicit a response?
@AverageJoe1 saidYes. Me too. The blessings were that:
I got my house from blessings from somewhere.
a) our wages kept up with inflation
b) some of us inherited wealth, of which the first $11M was untaxed
c) we could deduct mortgage interest from our taxes
d) mortgage interest rates were 3-4%
e) hedge funds weren't buying up houses to flip them
f) housing supply was expanding to meet demand
e) Is particularly concerning to Robert Reich:
My kids are like, "You were SO lucky." So you see, AvJoe? You were "blessed" (or lucky). You should count those blessings.
I heard on the news this morning that us military spent $335 million on a floating dock off the coast of Gaza.
Then, I go to amazon.com and find one for sale costs $150.
Why, this is military charged taxpayers so much? It's just funny money. Joe over here complaining that the poors are getting help on a down payment but $25000 to a military contractor is toilet paper.
There's a reason why the most wealthy area of the entire country encircles the Pentagon.
@eYe saidI know a person who started from scratch, saved up and bought a home, FHA loans were 100%. Today, a measly 3.5% DPayment is required. This person and millions of others could afford a mortgage. If they could not, they would likely rent until they could afford one. You seem to suggest it is someone else's problem.
The 'equity people' can't afford a mortgage now so even after the government provides the 25K deposit on a house, how are these 'equity people' going to pay the mortgage?
They eventually default on the mortgage and the banks or government own the property at the expense of the taxpayer?
Also, bills for houses are not like renting an apartment. A house has a mortgage, yearly tax ...[text shortened]... le rents so people can save for a better life.
Noble idea but most of these people won't make it.
But some people with mortgages and 3 kids may be asked to fork over (tax) money to buy homes for other people????????
And you say how are these equity people (what is that??) going to afford mortgages? Why, I guess the same way that my friend who started from scratch? Could that be the way? Or, is your government going to provide it, when it is not mentioned in the Constitution.
So they may bankrupt? Then the lender should have made them meet requirements for the loan, or not loaned the money. It is the lender's problem, not the taxpayer's. Geez.
You are speaking from a podium of dependence for all people. Dependents. People who cannot be self reliant. But people who Are independent do not get your reasoning. I wake up one day and a govt employee at the door says they need some money to buy housing for dependent people who did not save money, while my friend was saving money. I fear this demand will put my friend in a hole. He will thus go bankrupt.
Suzianne will say I lack empathy. Don't get that either.
@wildgrass saidWell, I could have said these people need homes, but Biden wants to PAY OFF tuition loans with money that he could give to these poor-planning people.

Do you libs ever plan, or do you just bet on the come? 'We will always be able to suckle'.
@wildgrass saidYeah, Wildgrass, why is the military so much, other than for defense? Stop defense, and instead, gift free homes and tuition. And you should see Suzianne's wish list.
Why, this is military charged taxpayers so much?
This is all the same lib logic that Sonhouse uses, saying men should be able to compete with women, which will lead to men joining their sororities and so on. SHOuse will be wearing a dress soon.

I could probably hire my neighbor to build a fancy one for $2,000.
For $335 million? That's a lotta defense, am I right? You think that's bang for your buck?
@AverageJoe1 saidInstead you'd rather have rich military contractors suckle hundreds of millions of your tax dollars for a floating dock in Gaza?

Seriously you can buy 10,000 of the docks sold on Amazon for a lot less than what the Pentagon charges you.
10,000
@wildgrass saidActually, largess has been happening for many years, remember the $600 toilet seats. Life aint perfect. Lets see you compare military snafus (military is REEEAAL impt, you know, whatever it takes) with the government stepping into the lives and finances of the average citizen. The govt has nothing to do with the citizens, other than constitutional provisions.

I truly find it curious the way you people think, You see a thread of some sort connecting everyone, where you want everyone to end up in the same place at the end of the day. Just my mantra that some work harder than others defeats that premise.
Give us an undefeatable premise, WGrass.
@wildgrass saidLike I said, it is not a perfect program, a lot of confusion, twists and turns. The toilet seats. You know, Another division of our government shut down our country during covid, cost us education of our children, failires of business. Why didn't you say how horrible THAT govt action was, Wildgrass. The docks are peanuts compared to that. Geee\z.

@AverageJoe1 said$335 million is clearly, obviously way way more than it costs to build a floating dock, by orders of magnitude.

Some military contractor in Fairfax Virginia, the wealthiest county in America, pockets the millions cash in difference. So you see, the dramatic excess in military spending is indeed stepping into the lives and finances of Americans. The only difference is that you don't want your taxes going to poor people. It's cool if rich people benefit from extravagant goobermint spending, just don't give it to the young family struggling to scrape together a down payment.
