Six people were killed and more than two dozen wounded during a shooting at a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois.

Police are currently looking for the suspect, who has been described as a white male aged 18 to 20 with longer, black hair and a small build. Anyone with information is being asked to contact Highland Park Police at 847-432-7720.

Oh, it seems there's already thread about this. Without looking, let me guess: instead of being distraught over the people who lost their lives, it turned political and/or racist.

I agree why to bring up left-wing or right-wing, black or white, native-born or not,
gay or straight, the person who did it doesn't represent a mass group; they are a
member of a specific segment of society, but that doesn't mean the segment was
involved only the shooter.

The topic is already political and racist, specifically when it comes to who gets to shoot whom, and who gets to do that with impunity.

Being distraught over people who lose their lives every day, whether by specific means or in general, could be considered a foolishly self-harming, enervating, and psychologically crippling practice.

What positive good does being distraught accomplish?
