Texas is a stand-your-ground state; the woman had every right to hold a weapon at the ready with a prowler in her yard.
The bcc news report includes police body cam footage; you might watch it: the policeman was outside when he fired a fatal shot through the window at the woman in her own home; he fired the instant he saw her, she had no time to even understand what he was shouting at her, he fired while shouting "put your hands up". She was playing a video game; these make noise; she probably did not hear what the officer shouted (from outside). She infringed no law nor was she given enough time to comply with the law officer's demand.
The policeman was not charged with homicide; he was served a "disciplinary reprimand." This is not justice.

That is not how it is now, which is if you are black or brown skinned you are much more at risk for being killed because of racial bias which OBVIOUSLY is the mind set of a lot of cops and of course also that is not the majority but enough of them to just jump the gun, ASSUMING that person is dangerous, MUST have an AK47 in his lap, THAT is a good portion of the crash deaths.
