So, we have the results of the PEW Research Center, and then we have....Sonhouse!!! "They cant get and ID! " "No one can give them water in the line!"

Here is a link for backup, but you can trust me.

I know this is not timely, but it was an issue for several years. Now we won't have to go over that anymore.

That was the 2020 election when many States loosened requirements to make voting easier.

Right wingers bitterly complained about it then and still do, many going so far as to claim the election was "rigged" because so many more people got to vote.

AJoe, democrats like sonhouse pretend that it's just concerned democrats that care for the people in line. It's harrowing!

Gee, AJoe, I wonder,,, did you ever see these good Samaritan democrats give people water who are waiting in long lines at the registry of Motor Vehicles... the Post Office...? the Outpatient ward at the Hospital?

What frauds, what phonies. It's LIVE ballot harvesting, right at the polling place.

What a GREAT point! All those people without ID waiting in line in all sort of venues. It really does make Sonhouse et al look silly. Thank you very much.
Thumb up

Maybe there wouldn't have been such long lines if right wing, Southern States hadn't closed 1200 polling stations from 2013-19. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-locations/southern-u-s-states-have-closed-1200-polling-places-in-recent-years-rights-group-idUSKCN1VV09J

As far as deflections go, No1, I'll give yours a C-

That’s 6% of the US population find it hard to vote.
That’s more than a million people (I think, I can’t count).

Does everyone in the US have an ID?

See, in the Netherlands, you need an ID to cast your vote. However, since everyone over the age of 12 has to have some sort of ID, it’s not a problem.

Now, if a said country does not force anyone to have an ID, then it follows that ID’s can’t be used to register a vote.

at this point of the avjoe nonsense party i just sit back and wait for others not fed up with his rambling to dig through his links and find context he wasn't smart enough to deem important.

What were the questions of the survey.
Was the question "was it easy"? Or "are you happy with how easy it was and could it be improved?"

Who was it conducted on.
It matters if the one asked was a senior citizen whose polling station is 10 meters away from his retirement home or if it was a student who had to stay in line for 10 hours.

How many of those asked voted by mail.

Avjoe probably meant to show people very much like the voter id laws. He might just end up showing people like mail in ballots

Vote Up
Vote Down

Oh, it's worse than that. Slaver, sorry, "Republican" states intentionally make it harder for certain groups of the population to get ID.

Guess which groups?

Surely you are not going to have us link a page listing the beauty and fairness of Georgia Election Law? All of the articles begin by pointing out that the law makes it easier to vote.
And tell your friends it is about 500 days till presidential election, plenty of time for Aunt Pittypat to score an I D.

Well, smarty pants, what’s 6% of the voting register in the US?

Go on. Tell us.

I suppose one red flag is that the poll surveyed only "voters." That is, those who indeed managed to vote. The probable millions who may have wanted to vote but could not manage to navigate the bureaucratic obstacles thrown up by those "small government conservatives" appear to have been excluded.
