Debates

Our forebears got along without leaf blowers for hundreds of years. Debaters, which we are, got along without links, notes and Siri for hundreds of years.
That is my point, and can you tell me why we need links when debating? Using sites for cribbing and preparing is one thing, but then bringing all that ‘material’ to overload the forum surely takes the fun out of it.🎭
Hahaha your on a computer or a smart phone you idiot.

Yes, for cribbing, like I said.

Whew.
I think I will send you a PM with about 20 links to read which support my holding that the government should not be your Nanny. You read them while I go play golf 🙂

@AverageJoe1
Ah, maybe you can catch your god king for 18 holes.

And women and blacks "got along" without the vote for quite a while, too.

Is that what you mean?

Having more rights than your other worthy citizens gives you a woody, doesn't it?

Progress includes equality, whether you like it or not.

I never had a nanny, I don't know about you.

However, the government should have a role in making this nation better, not worse.

And not just for white males.

@Suzianne
That WILL be the situation if repubs keep minorities from voting.
And then they use the argument, WHAT IS WRONG WITH VOTER ID?
Like that is a killer in itself.
They argue from distraction.

They're afraid of intelligent
people. Especially smart women, Suzi....
They sure do feel threatened by
a first term Congresswoman,
AND WON'T TELL US WHY~!

I get the impression you’ve never actually been in a debate nor read up on the rules for them.

https://www.speechanddebate.org/wp-content/uploads/Debate-Evidence-Rules-2015-2016

Evidence defined. Debaters are responsible for the validity of all evidence they introduce in the debate. Evidence includes, but is not limited to: facts, statistics, or examples attributable to a specific, identifiable, authoritative source used to support a claim. Unattributed ideas are the opinion of the student competitor and are not evidence.
B. Oral source citation. In all debate events, contestants are expected to, at a minimum, orally deliver the following when introducing evidence in a debate round: primary author(s)’ name (last) and year of publication. Any other information such as source, author’s qualifications, etc. may be given, but is not required.

It doesn't mention links, Thousand. Anyway, debates for hundreds of years, have been the same, like our senate, or Parliament. Oh, and college, debate teams. (Now, whether I have been in one is not relevant, is it? Jeez)
And in none of those cases does one drag out his MacBookAir and read to his anxious audience. I agree that points need to be proven, and you get that proof from websites/links, but one would imagine you would put it in an argument of your own words, so someone like me does not have to ask the audience to wait for a while while I read your website. Do you really think a good debate would have computers on a podium and direct the debaters to smother the audience with these tomes!!???!?
So, could you rephrase.? I would love to discuss the elements of debate.
