@earl-of-trumps saidGood point. It would be interesting if, instead of saying Trump or Biden in posts, that we substitute the words Capitalism and Socialism. I am serious....it might open minds on both sides of the arguments.
One item I totally agree with him on,,,
This is NOT an election between Trump and Biden. Much more to it than that
@divegeester saidHe's misinformed; the bill in the House would hardly ban "all semiautomatic rifles made in the last hundred years" nor are the grandfather provisions in it exclusively for the "rich".
What “rednecks” are you referring to?
Perhaps you didn’t listen to the video and just pre-judged the man by his appearance.
Have listen to what he’s saying and see if you can manage to reply to the content.
It could do a better job at defining an "assault weapon" and I don't see the need for some Federal firearm registry but really IF people are going to vote for Trump even though they think he is racist and divisive just because the Dems are following through on gun control proposals that a substantial majority of Americans support (like limitations on the number of rounds a magazine can carry: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/most-americans-support-stricter-gun-laws-new-poll-says) then so be it.
@no1marauder saidOk thanks. I’m not well informed on the detail and took the broadcast at face value.

I also disagree (with him) about not taking away guns (per se) as I’m not pro-gun, but I do agree with the principle of what the guy/reporter is saying that the Dems have to help moderate conservative America to lend them their votes in order to end Trumpism.
I’ve been rattling on about this a bit in other threads; win in the middle ground to unseat Trump, and the message will have to be compromised somewhat and that takes courage to not alienate the base Democrats.
It’s going to be very interesting.
(Typos, sorry.)

@divegeester saidHee hee !!
Rednecks are a “race”?
Go easy on Mott. It’s not a fair fight. 😆
@earl-of-trumps saidCorrect.

But the video hilites a single issue on which the entire country’s future going forward.
What I would like is for this person to stand in front of a mirror and ask
“What the hell is wrong with us ????”
But yes, the Biden campaign will have to play the political hot buttons with skill.
And I have an opinion similar to this guy. But from a much different angle.
If the election is going to be about Trump and the direction that he and his group of advisors (or puppeteers might be more accurate) behind him are taking your country, then the debate over free market capitalism and socialism can sit on the back burner for a term.
And really ..... come on !!! This is not really a debate.
It is a narrative that has originated out of economic extremists behind Trump and those at FOX Propaganda.
Solve the most pressing issue first !!
That being, address the protection of democracy.
It is under threat right now.
