Laws are now being made by the courts. This is what the US constitution wanted to never happen.
It (the constitution) did make the "judiciary" inferior to both the "legislature"
and the "executive" branches of government.

The strong conservative majority of fiive will not change with a replacement for her by Bush, but the quality of that conservatism will. We will likely get another dogmatic neo-con along the lines of Scalia and Thomas. Rehnquist looks better every day, while twenty years ago he looked like the devil's high priest from a liberal point of view. Once the most conservative member of the Court, he is moving toward the center, althoug he is not the one in motion.
The old Arizona conservatives--Rehnquist, O'Connor, Goldwater, McCain--may someday look like a pack of liberals as Bush steers the ship of state. Sad times.
I think it is a waste of time attempting to debate with people who disapprove of a woman's right to choose: the Goldwaterite degeneration that has been going on since '63 (and arguably earlier) is best given its vent - I hope that Bush successfully nominates two equally preposterous and conceited Cro-Magnon Republicans who eliminate Roe versus Wade, I really do. Then we can all sit back and watch the electorate shake the dust of Republican cupidity, irresponsibility and arrogance from its feet once and for all.
