President Trump regularly fumes during meetings and calls his aides and advisers “f---ing idiots.” He doesn't understand why the press covers him so critically, and distrusts his own advisers who tell him that even as president he doesn’t always have the authority to make his wishes come true.

In his third straight day holed up inside the White House during the partial federal government shutdown that he initiated over his demand to construct a border wall, President Trump barked out his frustrations on Twitter: Democrats are hypocrites! The media makes up stories! Senators are wrong on foreign policy — and so is Defense Secretary Jim Mattis!

As the stock market closed out its worst December since 1931, the president placed sole blame for the staggering sell-off on the Federal Reserve, refusing to take any responsibility for the same stock market he happily took credit for only a short time ago.

Even some fellow Republicans criticized his abrupt decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria, expressed worry and dismay at the sudden departure of the defense secretary and opposed the criminal justice reform bill the administration championed.

This is a portrait of a President that does not know how to do this job. He is scared, isolated, confused, and in over his head.

Exactly right. In over his head. Not a clue as to the job, Emboldened by a spineless Republican majority. The question will be: is the damage reversible?

Hopefully, once Mueller releases his report, GOP members of congress will reach across the aisle and quickly begin the impeachment process. I do not like Pence but I do not think he is as huge a threat to both the United States and the rest of the world as Trump. However, the damage Trump has done to the United States will have a negative impact domestically and in our foreign relations for many decades.

This kind of top level incompetence is one factor leading to the fall of the Roman empire. Although one issue Romans never figured out: leaded glass for wine bottles, looked good but had deadly consequences and lowered the collective intelligence of the whole society.

Can you provide a source of information other than Mother Jones? I have heard of guys like Rex Tillerson calling DJT a moron, but not the other way around.
Maybe DJT is sick of false news stories that he calls his aids and advisors idiots. Maybe he doesn't understand why the press makes up stories about him.

DJT should not get funding for the border wall though. He is obviously incapable of getting Mexico to pay for it. DJT may be hoping for no funding for the border wall so he can shift the blame for it now that he knows it is too expensive.

Mattis is wrong. Occupations increase terrorism. When imperialists occupy a nation they invaded there are always insurrections. The Nazis had that happen in Poland and the Nazis called them terrorists.

    http://www.ihr.org/jhr/v14/v14n2p2_Faurisson.html

All people involved in insurrections are called terrorists. When the Americans declared independence from the British Empire what do you think the British called the Americans? Terrorists!

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

He does not think he’s over his head.

Of course it’s reversible; just look at 20th century Germany to see the sort of thing it might involve. Oh no, it can’t happen here or again, can it?

    Good news from America!

The little girl still believes in Santa!
Yes, seemingly trump’s ignorance isn’t strong enough to ruin everyone’s Christmas.

The first half of the OP sounds like prime time angry X'er posting...

"Trump doesn't even understand why the media dislikes him..!"

Like the guy who overcame negative press coverage for the 2016 election and used it to his advantage, playing them like a fiddle to win both the nomination and the Presidency, doesn't understand the press who fails to defeat him.

It is the media that hasn't adequately read the situation.

Trump is attempting to govern the country the way a CEO runs a company, because that’s the only thing he knows. It won’t work. America can be governed only through consensus, not by fiat. It remains to be seen whether Trump wakes up before his time in office is over.
