@AverageJoe1
1). House passes the Articles, refers to Senate for trial
2) Senate conducts a trial. Republicans will vote to not convict. Legally, all over at that point.
3). HOWever, the presidents attorneys will have the right to subpoena and question ANYONE THEY WANT...This is different than the special counsel investigation, which was one-sided.
4) Duringthe trial, Comey, Strozk, Page, Ohr, Brazille, Holder, Lynch, Steele, Clinton, Brennan, Clapper and many more will have to give testimony.
5). A lot of dirt will be dug up, a lot of truth will be unveiled, finger-pointing will occur, deals will start being made and suddenly a lot of Democrats will start being charged and going to prison.
6). Note that the Republicans in senate will not ‘convict’ Trump. Most Americans believe that being impeached results in removal from office . Absolutely not. Phase two is the aforementioned trial, where he has zero chance of conviction.
7) During the trial, everything (DNC collusion by Clinton, fixing election, creation of Trump dossier, destroying emails, Comey’s chicanery, etc. ) will be allowed by the Republican-controlled senate.They will incriminate each other, for lying to FISA court, spying, wiretapping, all the foreign actors, Soros, etc. Soros on the stand!!!
8). After senate declines to convict Trump, he will win the election,...a backlash against democrat petulance, temper tantrums, hypocrisy and dishonesty. Even minorities will vote for him since they have seen dems focus on their own power and relentless pursuit of Trump, and not doing anything for minorities.

Impeachment doesn’t have to remove the president.
What it does do is let the voters know that government wishes to draw a line in the sand on what’s acceptable and what’s not.
Even if trump stays on, the message has been sent.
And before you get all into a right-wing huff about it all; that is one of the roles of government: to hold the executive accountable.

Judging by the 2018 election results, I'd advise caution against popping the champagne cork, and toasting Trump's reelection, especially since even many Republican lawmakers don't like him. - and I have a hard time convincing myself you're "just trying to help" 😏
@sonhouse saidBy ‘help, I’m , trying to put forward a simple understanding of the process, to make for more efficient dialogue. Some posts suggest Trump is ‘out’ if impeached. Let’s stipulate that he is not out, and then prepare for the real fireworks. Personally, I agree that he will likely be impeached by congress.
@mchill
VERY hard time convincing us he is just 'helping'.
So, interesting dialogue will be what happens in the Senate, when the trial begins. Didn’t mean to ruffle feathers, and as I said, I didn’t write that but I think it makes sense. (I did, however, make the ‘Soros on the stand ‘ comment. Would love that.)

I doubt the elites will let their loyal minion Bush get negative media attention. This is just a dog and pony show to distract people from the real news going on and get the population to fight each other instead of them. As long as it works they will keep doing it.
Trump cannot be impeached unless GW Bush is charged with a crime.
@metal-brain saidSo your logic ..... they should both have been impeached.

But since Bush wasn’t, we should give Trump a pass ?
Some logic. 😞
@kevcvs57 saidWell, by that I think that, if all those scurrilous people are subpoenaed, that our country will be sorry that it got that far. Trump lawyers will have no choice but to call them all in. The biz of this country will slow to a crawl.
Presumably you woke up at this point.

@kazetnagorra saidA friend sent this to me, saying a political science guy. I could check with him, but except for being able to call anybody they want to, to testify, (I’m a lawyer, has to be a person involved with these facts) , it all makes pretty much sense to me. I could be all wrong but I thought I would get this out on the table. Mainly, that I think he gets impeached, but the trial, tho interesting, will not bode well for the USA
