Richard Cooey, who raped and killed two women in 1986, says he's too fat to be put to death. A lawsuit filed Friday by the 5-foot-7, 267-pound inmate's lawyers says executioners would have trouble finding his veins and that his weight could reduce the effectiveness of one of the lethal injection drugs.

You can't really blame him for trying. (I'm not saying he shouldn't still be killed)

Isn't it interesting though? People say that the death penalty is not a deterrent, yet even the lowliest scum on the planet (like this fellow) contests his penalty all the way to the end.

Well it will certainly stop him from killing again, won't it?

Yes it will.

However DSR was implying that the death penalty was a deterrent. It plainly wasn´t.

There are plenty of people i would like to kill, but i wouldn't want to get the death penalty. Think there might be a hell of a lot of others like me?

You'd be ok with life in prison though?

Of course. That's how killers think.

I thought about that. There are people I'd like to kill assuming I could get away with it. I believe in the system, but something could happen to push me over the edge.

The death penalty itself does not scare me. Death doesn't scare me very much any more. The Death Penalty takes forever to actually kill people, so I'd even have time to do stuff while in prison...except that...

The one thing that would make prison preferable to the DP is that if I were sentenced to die, all of my time would be spent on the legal issue itself. I think death row would be a worse place to spend time than prison.

Life in prison gives one the chance to sit, and read, and write, something I do all the time anyway. It would suck, but I'd be able to work to improve the world through writing - and of course the prisons are the headquarters and training camps of crime, so I'd be on the scene to improve that situation - I even have at least one relative inside, and I'm sure plenty of folks with my last name...there's stuff to DO and I'd be able to someday get out as a wise old man. You can work out...even get drugs I think.

I know it's an unpleasant place, but still, once you're sentenced to die you want to fight to prolong your time...psychologically it seems more unpleasant - not the death itself, but the life waiting to die.

I think the guy and all those convicted of heinous murder should suffer being hanged, drawn and quartered in a public athletic stadium with a capacity of no less than 80,000 people. The execution would be projected on the huge screens in the stadium and simulcast live on HDTV .The condemned prisoner would be:

1 Dragged on a hurdle (a wooden frame) to the place of execution and there first tortured with red-hot pincers, then the hand with which the crime was committed would be burnt, with sulphur, molten lead, wax, and boiling oil poured into the wounds.
2. Then, he would be tied to a small wagon wheel and his limbs broken until he fit the shape of the wheel - (broken on the wheel);
3. then hanged by the neck for a short time or until almost dead
3. then revived, refreshed and then dsembowelled and emasculated and the genitalia and entrails burned before the condemned's eyes;
4. attached to four horse teams and pulled asunder, then
5. Beheaded and the body divided into four parts (quartered).

Typically, the resulting parts (i.e. the four quarters of the body and the limbs and the head, plus anything left over should be gibbeted (put on public display) in different parts of the city, town, and viewed on television, to deter those who otherwise would commit such crimes.

Alternatively, I'd suggest sawing, where the convict was hung upside down and then sawed apart straight down the middle, starting at the crotch. Because the brain received a continuous supply of blood despite the extreme loss of blood, the condemned remained alive and alert though was in severe pain. The individual would stay alive until major blood vessels in the upper stomach were ruptured, sometimes longer.

Also to be considered here would be flaying, or removal of skin for torture and execution. A sharp instrument, such as a knife is used to remove the skin and keep the skin intact. The condemned would die from excessive blood loss or infection with time.

Another good and cheap method is to bind the condemned to a post, then place a plastic bag over his head and simply wait while he asphyxiates. This, too, should be televised.
Lastly, I suggest slowly rotating the condemned over an open fire and cooking him like a chicken --
