OK, I have a confession to make. I never check the general forum any more. There's just not enough shouting. Everyone's nice to each other and there's lots of discussions about people's favourite films or cartoon characters or whatever, whereas what I want is ranting and swearing and general disgruntlement, ideally with lots of exclamation marks.

Now I realise that makes me a particular and no doubt socially retarded sort of person, but then since there's a healthy sized bunch of fellow debate forum devotees, I'm guessing I'm not the only one. So my question is, what is it that drives people to argue? Why are some people so damn intent on being right the whole time? And why am I one of them?

Rich.

Now I don't want to start an argument here, but ..... erm ..... what makes you think that wanting to participate in discussions on the forums necessarily makes someone a person that wants to be right the whole time ?

There are other motivations as well .... erm .... I hope.

The fact that you've discovered that you are a person who's one of those people "so damn intent on being right the whole time?"
proves the point I'm trying to make. There are many more motives that can stimulate you to participate in discussions. One of them is: Getting to know yourself.

You should be posting this in the "So what have we learned ?" thread ...... don't you think so ? πŸ˜‰

I partially agree with most of you half the time.

I'm all for seperate forums. The General forum is nice and lovey dovey. That's no place for heated debates on the wrongs of Christianity, US failings on the international scene and anti-Israeli propaganda.

hehe

On the other hand, maybe a little bit of sweet lovin' here might be in order, so I'll take this oppertunity to tell you all I love you.
And now for another wine.

Whew, what a romance!
Please, repeat this when you are sober, so I can be sure!
Anyway, I love you too.
I am sober; I cannot predict what I would say after some wineπŸ˜‰

Stubborn pride seems to sum up the situation.
