Say what you will of Joseph, Mary, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God. Make fun with crude remarks. Fool yourselves into believing you are superior, sophisticated, educated, above all the religious foolishness. Verbally masturbate each other giving tongue to shallow ideas that were ancient before you were born. But tell me this: how did the lives of an obscure man and woman in a backwater of the Roman Empire come to be remembered for 2,000 years? How did the son they raised manage to change the world?

Whether or not you accept the notion of the Virgin Birth,
there is no evidence to suggest that St Mary was a prostitute,
either contemporary to him or post-factol.

Two accounts refer to her relations (in one chosen, the other
forced, as I recall) with a Roman soldier; the Roman soldiers
were well known for rape.

Your post is only meant to raise ire amongst Christians, a
spiteful thing to do.

There is a theory among historians that Christianity is obviously completely false, because "virgin" Mary, simply cheated on her husband. These historians argue that Joseph and Mary recently wed, and never had sex yet, yet Mary somehow got pregnant, and in any other time period, everyone knows scientificly what happened, but this was 2000 years ago, and ...[text shortened]... ou can't prove I'm right/wrong anymore then you can prove Jesus is the son of god right/wrong.

Who said anything about adultery and prostitution . She probably loved Jo and boinked him . Nothing about money changing hands or her being unfaithful to him . And what's so wrong about that ? I'd respect the whole schtick more if I heard them say he was a poor bastard child who changed the world . Instead it has to be this virgin birth fiction , as if without this story the whole deal has no credibility .
