Giving my grandson this Beeman RS-1 next week for Thanksgiving, maybe we can go out and shoot birds and pretend to be Pilgrims shooting turkeys or something.
(Or Indians, etc.)

When he turns 18 and is ready for the military a little experience with it will do him good, like it did me as a tyke in the 60's, when I got handed an M16 in basic training, it was an easy transition. That and my Boy Scout training, thanks to the great Englishman Robert Baden Powell, bless his heart. He did so much for the British and America.

In the days before paintball we'd dress in many layers of clothing a shoot each other.

I wonder if that is an argument for gun control or if if those in favor of gun control should just be glad that those who aren't are actually shooting at each other.

Training kids to shoot is a high ideal. Few rural kids who know how to shoot end up doing drive byes. Shooting targets is great, but actually hunting some game is even better. Rabbit season is January in many States.

Been there, done that lol. We had a "no head shots" rule though. Safety first!

My parents never let me have an air rifle when I was a kid. I got a .22 when I was twelve that we kept in my dad's gun cabinet. We only took it out for target shooting and squirrel hunting.

Training children to enjoy killing animals has got to be a good thing.

Me and KT can talk about air guns on the M35a2 thread. I would like to mention it is the cargo truck of threads. You can load it with all kinds of topics.

hence me not bothering talking about guns with you and simply offering you a cookie. and some more attention. which is what you crave.

I grew up shooting birds and yet today I'm all for strict gun control. But put me on a farm I will shoot at kangaroos with a .223
