I think it is a small price to pay and might be a positive thing - people might interact more.
I think the next item to go will be all carry-ons, then luggage will be forbidden, then you will not be allowed to wear shoes. The finale will be that you must fly buck naked. Then the terrorists will turn to weapons of another sort. I might be inclined to attack a terrorist with a knife in his hand, but hell will have to freeze over before I might atttack him in the buff.
