What are you talking about? This is the best news I've heard all year.

Of course, it won't last long. Enjoy it while you can.

Yeah, a US default that massively runs up the US debt due to increased interest on the debt and incredibly reduced revenue.

Smart whodey.

It will happen eventually, but I doubt that this will happen this go round.

Contrary to what you may think I have no desire to see the country in ruin. Just know that I had no part in getting it to this point. My guess is that you think that the only people to blame are people like me. People who wish to live within our means and not run up massive debt. Like it or not the massive debt is the issue here. With or without people to blame like me it will all fall apart eventually.

People like you to blame? No. You're ignorant and you're not in a position of power.

The people to blame are the ones who KNOW that failing to raise the debt ceiling severely hurts this country, and use that as an extortion tool.

Hey trooper. If your credit cards were maxxed out, your house is underwater, you owe a loan shark money and his boys will break your fingers when they catch up, what is it you want to do? Borrow more money?

Raising the debt ceiling is to be able to make payment on money already spent (avoid a US default).

It's like you borrowed money last year to buy something last year, and now you decide you are not going to pay the monthly note because your wife will not agree to buy less food next year.
