In a couple different articles I read this statement that Knox was doing cartwheels at the police station, killing time while waiting, and this was seen somehow as proof of her guilt to many in Italy.
It sort of struck me as, if anything, more an indication of innocence since she didn't seem to recognize that she was considered a suspect and should be "acting innocent".
But I couldn't help think of a time I was in Serbia waiting at a police station in a rather long line -- I had to register myself as a visitor for the time of my stay. It was very hot that day and I was tired from travelling on the plane for 24 hours and I sat down on the steps. Almost immediately, a police officer came over and started shouting at me. My serbian is awful so I wasn't sure why. My mother-in-law (serbian) looked over in shock and started screaming at me to get up.
Evidently, sitting on police steps is consider a very offensive gesture and shows the ultimate lack of respect - I suppose like flipping them off or, well, doing cartwheels.
I understand respect for the police, but come on... Cartwheels is hardly an admission of guilt.
Originally posted by joneschrhi, the explanation or rather a plausible try, was given perhaps by the testimony of her co accused, when he stated that she was completely devoid of reality. Secondly people do strange things in times of extreme pressure, perhaps it was really her way of dealing with it although how it can be construed either as an admission of guilt or of innocence, i do not know. Her friends and family stated that it was just Amanda type of behaviour. i know if you had attempted this thing in a Scottish police station, your feet wouldn't hit the ground until you were made aware of the reality of the situation. I really hope that at one point someone shall fess up to what really happened after the realisation that these sentences shall not go away, although i dont hold out much hope!

why is there a thread about this?
how is this important to anyone apart from the people involved?
Not every thread has to have your personal seal of approval, although i know that might be hard to accept.

who thinks Amanda is guilty? anyone care?
Originally posted by Proper KnobYes Noobster my friend, this is the crux of the matter! the guardian or the telegraph article stated your thoughts rather well, she is guilty, but of what? the evidence would seem to suggest that Miss Kercher was very level headed and not promiscuous at all, a rather dull character by comparison. why she would engage in a sexual fantasy game, who can tell? however the fact of the matter is, that there were no signs of struggle upon her body. here is the seeming anomaly, why would the young lady be coerced into performing something against her character, why would she willingly submit? if you noticed the article it was stated that Miss Knox owed her money, that she had complained to her parents about her promiscuity (if you have ever lived in student accommodation you will understand why, the dude next door always seems to be having the loudest sex in the world where you must hug the pillow and bite your lip!), obviously there was some animosity, but does it warrant killing someone over? its kind of hard to believe.

By all accounts a certain level of animosity existed, but as you put it enough to kill someone? If they had a fight and one hit the other round the head with an object killing her, i could understand that. But how did she end up having her throat slit? From what i've read Knox has exhibited fantasies about rape, orgies and killing. For example her myspace site had on it a story she had written written regarding the above topics. But how and why did her boyfriend agree to become involved? Sure enough i can understand him wanting to get involved with her from a purely sexual point of you, she's a pretty girl and is rather promiscuous but surely killing someone is taking it alittle too far, by anyones stretch of the imagination
All very strange.
