I think it is more like a Mouseocracy. Walt Disney created many famous characters, pluto the dog being just one of them. However Mickey Mouse has spawned many much more royal personages onto the American urban mind scape than any pup dog wannebe. Mousekateeers arise, I give you Britney and JT and Christina etc. Therefore dude no such thing as a plutocracy in America.
QED.

America is nothing like a Plutocracy because the level of social mobility is higher here than anywhere else in the world! Why do immigrants continue to flock to the shores of the world's last best hope? Because they have opportunities for building a better life here that they can only dream of in places like Mexico, Cuba, Brazil, China, South Korea, India, Viet Nam, Lebanon, Iran, Croatia, Poland, etc. As further proof that social mobility is not fixed, look at the Forbes list of richest Americans -- every year it changes because new people appear and others fall from the rankings. The list proves that hard work, drive and innovation will be rewarded in America. But don’t take my word for it, just ask Bill Gates or Warren Buffett if they think America is a Plutocracy.

Is it feasible to become a congressman, senator, governor or president if you are not wealthy (or given lots of money by people who want to influence you) ?
