Trump is no longer contagious and there is still no debate. To add insult to injury (so to speak) they are both holding separate town hall meetings the same day.
We all lose. No debates when there could be. I think they both planned this so they would not be revealed as having almost the same policies. There really isn't much to debate. He loves fracking and he loves fracking more. Not much of a fracking debate, right?
Of course neither of them wants to debate. They would be revealed as frauds pretending to have different policies, because that is what they are.
I don't think the rude interrupting in the first debate was an accident. I think they both planned it that way to avoid talking about policy. The comparison to wrestling was spot on, but not because it seemed like a smack down drag out debate. It was also carefully choreographed just like wrestling. It was just one big fake act.
So now we are going to be cheated out of a second debate about policy since there will be no debate at all. I wonder how they will weasel out of talking about policy in the last debate? Will one of them find another lame excuse not to debate or will they deliberately argue like children like the first time?
Debates are useless and serve no function other than as entertainment. Debates may swing a small percentage of undecided voters, but otherwise, they're worthless.
I generally don't watch debates (whether presidential or primary) because the "winner" isn't decided by strong arguments, good ideas or intelligent viewpoints; they're decided by who was more entertained the audience more; who had the best zingers, one-liners, put-downs, comebacks, etc. All worthless.
I didn't watch the VP debate but I absolutely loved the fact that an audience was pretty much a non-factor. That's how all debates should be. I think networks insist on an audience because it adds to the theater of the event. Audiences made sense in the old days before television; they worthless now.
At this point, no one's mind will be changed by a debate. Fox News will always declare Trump the winner no matter how poorly he does; Biden's camp will declare him the winner no matter what. It's all a worthless waste of time.
@metal-brain saidDid you see the first debate???

Why on Earth would you want to see another?
@shavixmir saidWhy are you satisfied with no policy being debated? With no policy discussion what is the point of debates at all?

@metal-brain saidTrump had to be on something last night.
Trump wanted a drug test and Biden refused. Trump accused Biden of taking stimulants to overcome his dementia when debating. He even made the comment Biden got an injection in his ass.
He was yapping a mile a second.
@mghrn55 saidEsquire magazine covered it.

At the NBC Town Hall, the President Demonstrated That He Is Completely Insane
Also, that he has no plan for any issue facing the United States at this time. He has no second-term agenda.

He demonstrated here that he has no healthcare plan. He has no plan to suppress the coronavirus. He has no infrastructure plan. He has no climate plan. He has no plan to address wealth inequality. He has no plan for racial justice in policing and the criminal justice system. He has no plan for rural America. He has no housing plan. He has no plan for Native communities. He has no plan to counter China beyond the tariff tit-for-tat. He has no plan to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon now that he blew up the agreement that his predecessor made. He has no plan to provide people a way out of crippling student-loan debt, or to make college more affordable.
On spreading the conspiracy that Obama had SEAL Team 6 killed.

He has no second-term agenda. When he's asked about it, he cannot articulate one. On his website, there is only a "Promises Kept" tab. There's nothing about the future. There is no future, only the snarling madness of his permanent present. (This is not normal: Joe Biden has many specific plans for what he would do in office on his website.) The Republican Party adopted no platform at its convention this year. They basically just pledged to do whatever Trump wants to do. That's a fairly honest admission about the state of the party, but it also signals we'd have another four years of the national agenda being whatever an addled and paranoid old man saw on Fox News that morning and decided to tweet about. Oh, and strengthening and consolidating corporate power, through the conservative-stacked courts if need be.
@earl-of-trumps saidWhat if in the first game of a series one player kept shouting and flipping over the chess board? That was this debate.
What if....?
... you entered a chess tournament and after the first round, they changed the rules!!
uh huh.
@metal-brain saidThis election is not about policies or accomplishments. It’s about character. Trump himself made it so. Trump already showed his true character in the first debate. No need to repeat it.
