A headline in today's 'Telegraph' describes the major row which has broken out in Norway about a school headmistress who is trying to ban boys from peeing standing up!
Another sign of approaching Armageddon, or a brave attempt to further the cause of feminism?

I quoted the article in question which states, contrary to what you claimed, that the headmistress asked that the boys either quit pissing on the floor/seat or sit down (in nicer words).

"The Norwegian media have discussed little else since." I must have been asleep for the last few weeks. I hadn't heard about it at all. So I searched a bit in some online newspapers and at NRK (state-owned television and radio) and found some short articles from September 26 and 27 (NRK had one article in the district news). That's all.
The part of the article Xanthos quoted was wrong as well, though. The note the parents got actually said "Snakk om dette hjemme, og guttene SKAL sitte og tisse på skolen", which means "Talk about this at home, and the boys SHALL sit when they pee at school".
However, what I find most surprising about the whole thing is that they don't have separate toilets for boys and girls at that school. So I agree with Amaurote that the school should spend some money on the bathrooms.
