Interesting point raised... has enough time passed since 9/11 to allow such jokes to be accepted as mainstream comedy?

Well... Has it? Is it the same time for everyone around the globe? Have WTC cartoons become the equivalent of Muhammad cartoons?

Nup, mocking somebody's beliefs is one thing, mocking others grief
is just sick.

How would people respond to a sketch mocking kids in Iraq with limbs
blown off?

That's a ridiculous example. Nobody is mocking the broken limbs of WTC jumpers.

A more relevant comparison would be cartoons about Iraq. There are many out there. Do you react the same when you see one?

The point here is that something that is pretty meaningless to some has quite a lot of symbolic meaning to others. That is precisely why WTC cartoons are a relevant comparison. They have become untouchable in the mind of some people, while not in the mind of others.

That's b****x. Loss of life on a massive scale has meaning to
everybody, whereas religious figures do not.

That cartoon wouldn't even be funny in the schoolyard.

Just curious, how do you campare a profit from a certain religion with the deaths of many thousand of innocent people of all walks of life and religion. There are many cartoons out there on Jesus, Pres. Bush, and just about anyone you want. So are you trying just to be a$$hole or what.

Got any cartoons saved of the Jews during the Holocaust? Or, how about the poor starving kids in Ethiopia, or maybe hatchet mutilations from Africa.

Humour as a weapon? Would it be ok to joke about 9/11 if the joke's on
the hijackers?

"No, you idiot!!! You steer with the stick attached to... Aaaaaah!!!!"

"So, uh, you sure we'll be fine?"

"Yeah, Allah will protect u..."

"Now, let's see. Building seven. Where's building seven?"

"Why?"

"We're supposed to hit building seven!"

"Why?"

"Because we were ordered to!"

"Why?"

"Because otherwise it will all seem strange!"

"Why?"

Nice. You will never find a muslim newspaper having the balls to do something like that.

WTC = 3000 people dead.
Muslim = 1 billion people.
