This time in Ohio.
Women's bodily autonomy advocates had already gathered sufficient numbers of petitions and fulfilled all other requirements to put a State Constitutional amendment on the November ballot which would protect reproductive rights in Ohio (a red leaning State). But knowing that this would likely pass, Republicans decided to try an end run specifically calling for a special election now to pass Issue 1 which:
"Issue 1 would have required 60% of voters to approve the abortion-rights issue or any other future proposed constitutional amendments, up from the longstanding 50% plus one-vote requirement. It also would have made it much harder for citizen groups to get amendment proposals on the ballot by requiring them to gather signatures from all 88 Ohio counties, instead of half, and eliminating a 10-day “cure” period for campaigns to gather more signatures if they initially fall short."

But this attempt to change the rules in the middle of the game to make it easier to restrict women's rights was shot down by Ohio voters by a wide margin currently about 57.5% to 42.5%. https://liveresults.ohiosos.gov/

The whole deal in Ohio was sinister repubs trying to make any change to the state constitution happen with SIXTY votes instead of what it had been for a century, 50 +1 votes and the reason for those power seekers was to prevent Ohio from making a constitutional amendment codifying abortion rights there.

None of the liberals in the Forum have EVER said one thing negative or against the idea of allowing men to enter girl's dressing rooms or girl's bathrooms. And my apologies to Suzianne for using an improper pronoun. I am a little slow in keeping up with the changing world forced upon us by the liberals, et al, ,,,,,,,I am too busy trying to protect my assets from their steal......steal, you know, is not a bad thing to liberals.
