you may want to back up there a spec. People who commit suicide due so when they feel there is no hope left in there lives. Religion is supposed to bring hope (if practiced correctly). Perhaps there is a correlation between the lack of faith and the lack of hope. This is of course anectdotal evidence at best, but it might be worth thinking about.

I was being sarcastic, I thought.

You'd need to see the trend in suicide rates and faith rates over more than 2 years to draw any sort of conclusions.

Even then, doesn't necessarily mean there's a direct correlation.
