But the OP is about the growing list of Trump's buddies following him in legal problems. There are at least a half dozen of them already done jail terms or awaiting jail.
It does bring up Trump's statement 'I only hire the BEST'.

It does bring up Trump's statement 'I only hire the BEST'.
I read a quote somewhere to the effect that, since most of us live our lives completely honestly, we don't realize the extent to which the system runs on good faith.

One person deciding to be crooked can get away with a lot because the system ASSUMES most people are honest. The dishonest can skate under the radar for a remarkably long time by hiding, pretending, misdirecting, and claiming, 'Oh, it's all a big misunderstanding.'

Trump and all his ilk are exactly that. His biggest mistake was calling attention to himself.
