New Zealand Protest Convoy Blocks Capital: Demands End to Vaccine Mandates

"Hordes of vehicles blocked streets around New Zealand’s Parliament on Tuesday, in a protest mirroring others building around the world demanding an end to coronavirus restrictions and vaccine mandates."

And New Zealand is a tough nut to crack, with Jabcinda in charge

Truckers protesting that governments are trying to manage a pandemic, because they think they know better than virologists, experts and health organisations.

I’m sure they’re open to critique about how to drive their trucks by people without a driving license. And that they should do their work for half-wages, because all they do is show arse-crack and stink up diners.

A tiny minority holding the majority hostage it’s a conservatives dream of true freedom.
There are long running links between Canada’s ‘conservatives’ and their US counterparts so of course they support the truckers right to destroy businesses and keep locals awake and harassed.
Throw that scumbag freedom convoy in a deep dark cell.

The virologists, experts and health organizations do not all agree.
6 months ago I would have said that I do not know anyone that knows anyone that has the virus, now that has all changed here in Australia. I know lots that have had it, both vaxed and unvaxed, including my son and grandson. ( son vaxed, grandson not ) and I still hate the mandates. I talk to a lot of people and very few are happy with the mandates, very few. And everyone has seen what can happen with this virus, few are particularly concerned. Cautious, at best. Most everyone I talk to is simply waiting to get it. Despite cases in the 1,000s daily, hospitalizations, "with the virus", you know, broken legs etc, are dropping.
We have a pandemic, get over it, people die. I have changed little in my thinking except that things were no where near as bad as I expected after opening up, as much as they did open up that is. I expected worse.
We do not need experts to tell us what we can see with our own eyes and that is, the world is not ending, and to me never looked like it would. And we only have their word for it that it would have been worse without their "guidance".

Well given that you opened up as omicron was becoming the dominant strain it’s no wonder that deaths are low. Your government did the right thing keeping alpha and delta at bay otherwise you would’ve seen a lot more deaths but probably not your son or grandson.
I’m sick of people who are such conspiracy theorists that you have to shove their faces into the putrefied body of a covid victim before they deign to believe its a thing.
God forbid that any of your family should lose their lives or suffer life changing illness due to covid but until that time you can shove your “ We have a pandemic, get over it, people die.” attitude where the sun don’t shine. Typical self obsessed right wing 💩 for brains.

Australia's policies have kept its COVID death rate low; it's about 1/16 that of the US. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries

Why you would wish death on 65,000 more Australians (which would approximate the rate in the US) or more is quite beyond me.

And this right here is why humanity doesn't have flying cars yet.

If you're afraid stay home and order your food online. Spent 5 years in Aus so keep in touch with people there, a bunch of them have had it and it's a mild flu. Vaxxed and unvaxxed are catching it alike. A manager flew home from Guam to Aus, quarantined for 14 days to prevent bringing the wuflu into Aus, 3 days after getting out of quarantine he caught the wuflu, no issues, mild flu symptoms the biggest hassle was going back into quarantine. Eventually you're going to have to start questioning some of the BS you keep swallowing.

You should tell the 5.8 million worldwide (almost certainly an undercount) to stop pretending they are dead from COVID.

If you refuse to take minor precautions so you don't spread a deadly, contagious disease, stay home and order your food online.

I'll meet and trade with like minded people. If one of your precautions is masks that's been exposed as useless, the longer you continue your slavish mask worship the more of an ijit you look.

BTW how can I spread something I don't have, this question has been posed to shag doody, jim619 and vivfy they all squirmed away.

Your lying about masks and your being really stupid by saying ‘how can you pass it on if you haven’t got it’ because no vaccination or preventative programme can work on that basis.
The vaccinated are in the majority no matter how much noise the selfish minority make.

Personally I prefer public health officials to determine the efficacy of preventive measures against deadly, contagious diseases rather than internet posters.

Individuals are poor judges of whether they have COVID or not, so their assumption that they are "healthy" is insufficient to imperil others.

wow, these truckers are acting like small children who missed out on pie when they chose not to eat their vegetables.
