Ok, I can live with that, a fellow vet. I did bomb nav on B47's, a bomber whose main calling was never to have fired a gun or dropped a bomb in anger.
Sometimes though it beat the B52 in bombing accuracy in spite of the fact the 'computer' on that rig was literally mechanical. I spent many an hour repairing modules on that plane. 4 years and left with a top secret clearance.
My brother in law was a colonel, also a navigator on C130's if I remember right.
I could not fly, had to wear glasses, vision 20-220 without correction, a wee bit too bad for flying crew....
Why didn't you go for full retirement? Not trying to put you down for that, but you spent a long time in the military. I just wasn't up to military lifestyle.
I am a folk musician and did a lot of music at Lincoln AFB, when it WAS an AFB, not any more.
