More interesting, what perentage of your gross income does NOT end up in your bank account?

For me:

US 19%
Austria 41%

(And sales tax in the US was lower, too -- 6% vs. 10-20%.)

In the UK we have a basic form, with supplementary pages for the different types of income, such as PAYE (Pay As You Earn - a standard employee or Director), self employed, partner of a business partnership, rental income, capital gains etc.

They have changed the forms for this tax year just finished and they have shrunk the size of the basic form. So its not too bad.

Humerously, H M Revenue & Customs (IRS) is pushing people to file their Returns online, but their software cannot yet correctly receive all the forms! As is normal over here!
