Yes, but McCain is also a federalist and medical marijuana is a state issue.
"Marijuana, for any use, is illegal under federal law." http://marijuana-as-medicine.org/Federal%20&%20State%20Law.htm
People have been arrested by the Feds for violation of federal drug laws in states with legal medical marijuana under state law. McCain's statements don't seem to indicate that that would change under a (fortunately unlikely) McCain administration.

Simple:
Marijuana is a very cheap and affordable to VERY expensive pharm drugs.
We don't want those pharmie companies to become broke now do we!
If it's whether or not marijuana should be legalized, that topic got boring here a long time ago. Just asking.

If it's a legitimate area for the Feds to act in, then Federal law trumps State law on the same subject. The US Supreme Court in Raich v. Ashcroft said that regulation of drugs is "interstate commerce" even if the drugs are grown not sold and used solely inside a state.

This is a FACT. Google it. Feds are raiding innocent patients and throwing them in jail where they die from their cancers...
Why are you concerned? Plan on coming down with cancer soon? There are plenty of leagal drugs for pain, Pot is not the cure-all just because you like hitting the bong.
The raid was on a co-op, where you have a bunch of pot-heads, who were growing alot of it. Individuals that have a dotors note, and grow enough just for themselves don't get hassled.
Take another toke, and relax. We won't bust you today. Maybe tomorrow.
