@no1marauder saidHundreds of thousands of lives by virus or more hundreds of thousands of lives by hunger, exposure, disease picked up in the streets.
What an amazingly hypocritical argument. Right wingers here have been arguing that hundreds of thousands of lives are "dispensable".
You think the latter is not going to be a reality but if the lockdowns stay in place, it will be reality.
So in the end, it will be you libs with your nanny government that condemned many many people to slow but certain death.
"yeah, he only picks up trash, he is dispensable." uh huh

@earl-of-trumps saidThat's a load of BS. Not even right wingers can be stupid enough to believe it; this is all about the Donald's re-election and you, me and everybody else knows it.

The people who will be forced to go back to work during a lethal pandemic will be the ones who wind up dying, not the rich bastards now pressing for "business as usual".
@kazetnagorra saidIt's touching how right wingers have all of a sudden developed an overwhelming sense of compassion for the working poor.

@whodey saidSeriously, I wish you'd stop calling people what you are.
Sneaky? How is asking this question sneaky?
Apparently you are not concerned with the state subjectively determining who can earn a living now and who cannot based on being labeled essential.
But then, like the abortion thread, you would deem all abortions essential, but have no problem patients being turned down for other procedures you don't deem essential.
You are ...[text shortened]... ge such genocide harshly. Maybe you picture Hitler as your neighbor in heaven, so what do you care?
You have got to be the biggest fascist and hypocrite on these forums.
@earl-of-trumps saidKind of like the Corporate view that those with less income are considered "dispensable"?
I would suspect that a family's "bread winner" is essential to the family to eat food and maintain a domicile.
Government can sometimes take the view that people are dispensable based on their value to the community, like bees in a hive.
Regrettable. And a treatment that can lead to civil insurrection.
@whodey saidI'll answer your question, despite your attempt to make it partisan.
Are you or is what you do deemed "essential"?
Who has the constitutional power to decide?
Yes, my job is essential. In fact, I've been doing overtime. Since Thanksgiving.
@whodey saidAre you saying that all European governments took part in the holocaust and their citizens went meekly along with it?
Europeans proved during the Holocaust that they don't question government.
If you wish to be proud of this then so be it.
Luckily you had Churchill, but that is about it.
I’d say history is not your strong suit but hey maybe it is.

@kazetnagorra saidgovernment can never make up for lack of production. they can borrow from the future for just so long.

I think there are many people in society that think big gov can fix anything. they can't
