"The Grim Reaper's Road Map: An Atlas of Mortality in Britain shows exactly how people's deaths are affected by where they live, how much money they have, the type of work they do and their lifestyle."

Some of the paragraphs read like a weather report. "A cluster of cervical cancer spreading from Merseyside to Grimsby ... "

Well of course. It is obvious that these factors must inevitably play a part in the game of living in the real world as distinct from a fool's paradise.
In the commie-type society which bods like you and Redmike favour it is the Party hierarchy who take the place of the wealthy in getting priority treatment. Grow up.

If you're on "benefits" and smoke, eat nothing but fish'n'chips, drink beer, and attend soccer games, then you've increased your odds considerably for an early death. What could be more fair than that?

I like it when you talk about the culture in other countries because it always shows how your world view is based on the simple stereotypes you get from watching too much TV.

Apart from the fact that fish and chips is probably one of the healthier fast foods you can eat, assuming you let the oil drain well, nobody lives off the stuff in the UK. I suspect you´d be hard pressed to find anybody who has it more than once a month.

For some more news you may be interested to know that London isn´t foggy, the fairly modern view that the Brits all have bad teeth (I think I heard that one first on the Simpsons) is no more true there than anywhere, British cuisine is currently highly rated within serious culinary circles, nobody wears bowler hats, coffee is drunk more than tea, you can watch hundreds of channels on the TV, most people don´t care about the royal family, Americans are usually liked, and very few people have butlers.

But DsR hasa point.
There is a strong correlation between eating and drinking habits and early death so that it is not surprising that the locations where the inhabitants tend to indulge in unhealthy items of diet (not, as the Socialist myth would have it, because they are cheaper but because they are preferred) have higher death rates than elewhere.

Well I´m not sure too many people would disagree with that.

That and the fact that a social safety net has negative repercussions.

When people can live however they wish and still survive you are going to get alot more of the lower socio-economic class surviving then reproducing.

Social safety nets and human nature are not a good combination.

Just so: as in the case of the so-called 'ethnic minorities'.

You nearly fooled me, 3 posts in a row without personal attacks, without blaming anything on labour, without attacking anyone with a different skin tone. A valiant effort to disguise yourself, but your true colours show again.

Welcome back Philidor.

No, this has nothing to do with minorities. It has to do with being trash of any color.
