how can this massacre of 11 unarmed civilians by the british army parachute regiment stay hidden and swept under the rug for so many years now? when will there be justice? I doubt its forgotten in Ireland but around the world and in the u.s.a. most have never heard ballymurphy. it is a prime example of what a tyranical goverment will do to its citizens when they have all the power, and guns.

You are absolutely right - it is a scandal that no-one has been brought to account and a scandal that this is not more widely known about.

The biggest issue, though, is that it is less an example (in my opinion) of what a 'tyrannical government will do to its citizens', than an example of what happens when a government reacts to terrorism by using violence. Sounds a bit like a 1970s "War on Terror" to me.

ahh,i dont know if i could compare it to the "war on terror",yet ! but what i stated at the beginning of this thread it has the feel or i should say the smell thats what they are gearing up for. either the present one or a future one. anyone opposed to them is dangerous ? a domestic terrorist? you see w/these labels on them the gov, can do what they want to them and the main stream media will spin it in there favor. the same old tactics keep on being used and the peoples fall for it. in this nation and in others throughout history as well as the present. the bushes, the clintons, obama, are not for the common man. so many make our current "leader" out to be some sort of savior.its not so!" its time for change" thats all I heard. in the end it may not be the change they were looking for.
