Barr spoke, Notre Dame, last week: Excerpts.......as he blames secularism for social pathologies such as drug addiction, family breakdown and increasing numbers of angry and alienated young males.
""Whereas, religion addresses challenges by stressing personal responsibllity {a time-worn preach of AverageJoe}, the (liberal) state's answer to everything is to alleviate "bad consequences".

"So, the reaction to growing illegitimacy is not sexual responsibility, but abortion."

"The reaction to drug addiction is safe injections sites".

"The solution to the breakdown of the family is for the State to set itself up as an ersatz husband for the single mother, and an ersatz father for the children."

"The call come for more and more social programs to deal with the wreckage--and while we think we are solving problems, we are underwriting them."

"The secular project {which is evidenced by libs in these threads} has itself become a religion, pursued with religious fervor. It is taking on all the trappings of religion, including inquisitions and excommunications. Those who defy the creed risk a figurative burning at the stake--social, educational and professional ostracism and exclusion waged through lawsuits and savage social media campaigns.'"

It is beautiful, it goes on, he really nails it. The columnist highlights how the critics went bonkers, calling it religious bigotry, and 'pogrom type' speech. He ends the column by saying.."That so many would become unhinged by Mr. Barr's relatively modest contribution to the genre is highly revealing of the absolutism of secularist opponents determined to marginalize and destroy anyone who dares to dissent from their own uncompromising orthodoxy".

Alas, Barr's words I am afraid will be gone with the wind as the liberal society continues its quest............................

    Any comments?

To tell the truth, all us real citizens are saddened about what is going on, I could feel it in Barr's words, but numbers will eventually overrun us. Might be getting a bit difficult to raise a child now. I think I will go over to my church and spend a little time.

You could prob pull up his complete speech easily.

@AverageJoe1,,,Say it ain't so Joe, not another TRUMP disciple/
Even the less intelligent among us know that 'safe injection sites' are not meant
to promote drug addiction but, rather, control the spread of disease and that
abortion is not a form of birth control; of course you're against ALL forms of birth control, aren't you?
Yeah, I guess some people feel that THE WEALTHIEST NATION IN HISTORY of MANKIND cannot afford
to ensure that their citizens are fed, and have access to basic medical care but I don't happen to be one of them/

Secularism is one of the pillars of the American form of government and explicitly enshrined in its constitution; it is opposed by reactionaries and supported by conservatives.

And there it is. Just throw money at the problem, money they have to now print out of thin air cuz they can't afford everything they take on.

I think you will find taxation cures all our ills. All we need to do now is tax away global warming.

Where have you been? The government is slowly eroding away prayer in schools. And when the socialist takeover, when you are made to live under their socialism, there will probably be no more prayer in Schools Like I say above, where have you been
