Great commentary piece in a recent Times magazine about him.

Well, if you're a big Beck fan you probably won't like it, but it was basically criticizing his form of discourse while at the same time appreciating his skill at manipulating people's fears for money.

I thought it was a well-written piece, and as I'm not a fan of Beck, I didn't take any offense to it.

Well his #1 job is to sell soap. No one disputes that. However, the other question is, does he believe in the movement he has helped foster? I suppose the judge, jury, and executioners at Time Lefitist Magazine is NO!!!

Yeah, my take was that they don't believe it. In fact, they draw evidence for their belief from a Time interview that they did with him earlier where he seemed to take a very different stance on things from what he says on TV.

Like I say, I really don't care that much whether he believes in the cause or hi$ own cau$e (subtle, eh? 😛 ). Beck isn't affecting my life for bad or good really.

Edit: Here's a link if you're interested.

Conservative icons can be ordered by the acuity and weight of their arguments. Glenn Beck falls in the lower quintile of that ordering.

Everything that criticizes a conservative is a hit piece.

Not to burst your bubble or anything but my values and beliefs do not hinge on Glenn Beck nor do my feelings about issues he has championed in the past that I also favor. In fact, he can either come along for the ride or go jump off a bridge for all I care.
