Being poor may mean you didn't apply yourself in school.

Being poor may mean you didn't hold down a job at one time or another.

Being poor is sitting at home all day watching daytime television on a black and white tv.

Being poor is trying to find out how you are going to get a ride to cash your welfare check.

Being poor is having to hunt for a medical provider that accepts the free healthcare provided by the US gov.

I have never had much money, but I have always had enough to eat. When my husband was in India for 2 1/2 years, he saw really poor people. The poor people in this country usually weigh twice as much as those poor folks. Now THAT is poverty!

More than likely I'll always struggle financially a little... But Ill get by as best I can. Not poor when you consider India, or parts od SE asia, central america, africa etc....

My point is that not everybody who works hard is honest, tried hard at school etc. Ends up being in a comfortable financial situation which was the implication made here.

It takes one bad call sometimes not even your bad call, or one bad situation to put someone in a financial rut they find difficult to escape with all the hard work in the world.

Yep but the tone and implication of the post was quite clear. Unless you we're trying to make some other point?. If this is the case then I apologise. I doubt it though.

Spelling eh? where's the mistake, except a d/f typo on the second post some missing caps and lazy sentence structure I fail to see any please elucidate for me.....

Being poor is having to keep buying $800 cars because they’re what you can afford, and then having the cars break down on you, because there’s not an $800 car in America that’s worth a damn.

Being poor is hoping the toothache goes away.

Being poor is knowing your kid ...[text shortened]... have.

Being poor is running in place.

Being poor is people wondering why you didn’t leave.
Nice cut and paste, you could of atleast referenced your source--or do they not teach that at your liberal school?

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Poor jlily. I think all you really need is some inspiration in your life. I suggest you go to the library and check out any number of books from the biography section because each of those people had much harder lives and more difficult circumstances than you ever will and yet they not only overcame their privations but went on to lead interesting and inspiring lives.

All this whining -- you really ought to be ashamed of yourself.
