Bernie Sanders proposed a 10% budget cut to Pentagon, that would have still left with more money than what it had when Trump took office. The money saved would have gone to healthcare and education, which americans sorely need especially during this pandemic.

Jake Tapper has tweeted a list of Democrats who voted against this, which includes the great "progressive" Kamala Harris (this is a direct jab at No1Marauder who called her progressive, i am not that surprised how she voted). Tammy Duckworth who, like Harris, is also on Biden's Vp shortlist also voted against it.

My opinion is that Sanders didn't actually expect this to pass. I believe he wanted a formal vote to force politicians to go on record to support/oppose cutting the most bloated military budget in the history of mankind. A budget bigger than the next 10 countries combined, 7 of which being pretty much US allies. To make it easier for real progressives to use this against them in future elections. To tell americans that during massive unemployment, when many americans risk eviction, these politicians decided they would rather give weapons manufacturers more money to build more guns to defend against a non-existent threat.

Primary those democrats. Run against republicans even in red states.

Not a single republican voted for this bill but we aren't really surprised about that, right?
